LibLime and WALDO Announce The Cathedral Seminary House of Formation Goes Live on Bibliovation

North Bethesda, MD, October 16, 2015 – LibLime, a division of PTFS, and WALDO (Westchester Academic Library Directors Organization) announce the Cathedral Seminary House of Formation Francis X. McDermott Library has gone live on Bibliovation 5.12. The Library will take advantage of much of the functionality offered in the application, including:

• Single screen cataloging editor with MARC21 validation and the option to embed local cataloging guidelines; with support for MARC Authority records, MARC Bibliographic records, and MARC Holdings records
• Circulation functionality supporting sophisticated holds management, course reserves, term loans and proxy borrowing
• Discovery Layer offering a cloud-based, fast and locally customized index of a library’s information assets, with an easy-to-use and powerful way of accessing all of that information from a single search box
• EDI-compliant acquisitions with multi-tier fund hierarchy, purchase suggestions, invoice creation, and year-end rollover

Cathedral Seminary House of Formation is a place where a young man may discern God’s call and allow the seeds of his own vocation to grow and develop. Cathedral Seminary House of Formation is for seminarians attending college or those who need the necessary philosophy before entering theological studies. The mission of Cathedral Seminary House of Formation is ultimately the preparation of candidates for ordained priestly ministry in the Roman Catholic Church through spiritual, intellectual, apostolic, and human formation. Undergraduate seminarians live at Cathedral Seminary House of Formation and attend classes at a variety of Colleges and Universities in the New York Metropolitan area. Pre-Theology seminarians are men who have successfully completed an undergraduate degree but find they are in need of philosophy credits before moving on to the major seminary. During a two year course of study and formation these men are able to obtain the necessary prerequisites for theological studies. English As A Second Language seminarians attend an intensive language program at St. John University. Each student is evaluated and admitted into various levels corresponding his ability. Emphasis is given to speaking, reading and writing for academic and scholarly work.
