About Axtell, Nebraska
Axtell, also known as the “Windmill City”, gained this title from once having windmills on nearly every treeless plain, numbers nearing 200 at one point. Former Nebraska State Legislator, Gary Lee Anderson is also a native to Axtell. Anderson was the only American sport shooter to win two consecutive Olympic gold medals in the 300 meter Rifle event, while also winning seven World Championships.

About the Pioneer Consortium
The Pioneer Consortium continues to expand the number of members that share the Bibliovation union catalog. The success of the early members of the consortium have been rewarded as many other libraries throughout the state join the union catalog and expand the collections available for resource sharing. The member ship has grown from the initial four members to twenty-seven in four years.
