The U.S. Fire Administration Selects Bibliovation 5.8

North Bethesda, MD, August 13, 2014 – U.S. Fire Administration, an entity of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), has selected Bibliovation 5.8 for all collection and patron management services. In the upcoming months, U.S. Fire Administration library staff will be working closely with LibLime project management to go live on Bibliovation.

The Fire Administration will enjoy the following features included in the new release of Bibliovation 5.8:

• A single screen cataloging editor with MARC21 validation and the option to embed local cataloging guidelines; with support for MARC Authority records, MARC Bibliographic records, and MARC Holdings records
• Support for GeoMARC
• An expanded messaging package for patron OPAC interaction covering purchase requests, ILL requests, call slip requests, general library messages, digital object ingest, and holds
• Discovery Layer map interface for search and retrieval of geo-tagged materials
• Expanded staff permissions distributed as groups with members of the group inheriting the permissions assigned to the group
