Senior Business Analyst

Job Title: Senior Business Analyst
Purpose: Works as a liaison between product team and subject matter experts in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to processes, policies and information systems. The business analyst understands business/library problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
Status: Reports to President, Products and Project Manager of a given project.


PROJECT RELATED COMPETENCIES

Analysis and Solution Definition
  • Quickly understands the business issues and data challenges of the library industry.
  • Awareness and experience with User Centered Design and Development (Extreme Programming)
  • Familiarity with Krug's "Don't Make Me Think"
  • Identifies organization's strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement.
  • Reviews, writes and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution.
  • Develops functional specifications and system design specifications for client engagements.
  • Proven familiarity with business process notation and writing use cases
Technical Recommendation and Testing
  • Leads testing efforts.
  • Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Works with client personnel to identify required changes.
  • Communicates needed changes to development team.
Project Execution
  • Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
  • Takes input from supervisor and appropriately and accurately applies comments/feedback.
  • Communicates and applies project standards.
  • Manages resources in accordance with project schedule.
  • Consistently delivers high-quality services to our clients.
  • Understands the components of running a fiscally successful project.
